What does Kuyapa mean?
Kuyapa means “caring” in the Peru native language Quechua. Quechua has been spoken by the native people for thousands of years.
Where does Kuyapa operate?
We have offices in Lima, Peru (the capital city) and in Iquitos, the gateway to the Peruvian Amazon jungle. As well, we have posts and connections in the central Peruvian Andes.
How does it work?
Kuyapa provides medical, educational, and infrastructural donations, assistance, and support for those in the Peruvian Andes Mountains and Amazon Rainforest. You can get involved through volunteer labor and donations. Learn more at link
What skills do I need to have to volunteer?
We are always looking for volunteers to assist in the capacity of medical, educational, and construction/infrastructural initiatives. We recommend that volunteers have some background or experience in these fields; if not, please contact us and we will arrange an opportunity with you where you can be most effective and influential.
What languages do I have to speak to volunteer or participate?
English and Spanish will be very useful, but are not required.
How are donations distributed and used?
We rely on gifts from individuals, corporations and other groups to fund our missions in the Amazon and Andes. All donations of any amount are deeply appreciated and help us develop our goals in fuller ways. Examples include the purchase of educational and medical supplies, construction resources, transporting of materials to the distant villages, and more. One of our values is honesty and transparency, so don’t hesitate to reach out to use for more information on how we appropriate our funds.
